Nigeria: Fake Drugs: NAFDAC Blacklists Onitsha Market


The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has charged pharmaceutical companies operating within or outside Nigeria to discontinue supply of pharmaceutical drugs to Onitsha market in Anambra State.

According to statement signed in Abuja by Mr. Abubakar Jimoh, head of media and public relations, the directive follows fresh indications from samples of laboratory tests that large amount of pharmaceutical products sold in the market are either fake or sub-standard.
