Nigeria: NAFDAC Destroys N20bn Counterfeit Drugs
Director General of the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Dora Akunyili, said yesterday in Akure, Ondo State, that the Agency destroyed counterfeit drugs worth not less than N20 billion in the last six years.
Akunyili, in a key note address delivered on her behalf by head of the Ondo State NAFDAC office, Dr Debo Agbejimi, at the opening of the first Annual Scientific Seminar of the Nigerian Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists, said the destruction were carried out in 10 exercises.
