Akron man charged in online fake-Viagra ring
An Akron man made thousands of dollars distributing fake Viagra, Cialis and Levitra for an illicit online pharmacy, federal prosecutors say.
Ryan Wheele, 32, was charged in federal court with conspiracy and trafficking counterfeit goods for his alleged role in a ring that sold imitation pills to treat erectile dysfunction under the radar of the Food and Drug Administration.
Wheele worked for an unknown individual who operated an Internet pharmacy, Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian H. Stickan said.
Wheele met the person online and became involved in the enterprise in late 2005, authorities say.
