EU coordinates customs services to seize counterfeit drugs


European Union customs agents seized more than 34 million illegal pills and tablets in the 27-country bloc's first coordinated campaign against illegal medicines, the EU's executive Commission said on Tuesday.

Starting in mid-October, customs officials across the EU joined forces to intercept illegal and counterfeit products like antibiotics, anti-cancer, anti-malaria and anti-cholesterol medicines, various painkillers and the impotence pill Viagra.
