In Hanoi, the Drug Administration of Vietnam has alerted local health departments and pharmacists to inspect lots of “Zinnat” an antibiotic produced by Glaxo Operations UK, for counterfeit versions, reports the Vietnam News.
The Central Drug Testing Institute identified one lot of 500 mg Zinnat tablets as counterfeit. The tablets (labeled LOT: C463051, MANF D 17-02-10, EXP 02-13, Glaxo Operations UK Limited United Kingdom) are packaged very similarly to the genuine ones, but are not authentic.
The Ministry of Health has asked businesses not to sell or distribute the counterfeits.
