Congressional Briefing: The Human Impact of Counterfeit Drugs

As the recent seizure of more than 8,000 counterfeit pills labeled as “harmless generic medicine” at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport demonstrates, Americans are not immune from the dangers of counterfeit drugs.  This is a global public health threat that is gaining increasing national attention from the media (60 MinutesCNN) and policy experts.

Please join the Partnership for Safe Medicines on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 12 -1 p.m. ET at the Florida House on Capitol Hill (1 Second Street NE) as we explore the human impact of counterfeit drugs. The panel of experts includes:

  • Rick Roberts, a victim of counterfeit drugs
  • Marv Shepherd, Ph.D., President of the Partnership for Safe Medicines; Director of the Center for Pharmacoeconomic Studies, College of Pharmacy, University of Texas-Austin
