RISD, UC Irvine, and Instructables Host Fake Online Pharmacies?
Websites subjected to IP hijacking. This week, its medicine, the arts, & DIY!
July 16, 2012
Curiosity about the true state of web search redirection and IP hacking in the wild, wild west of the Internet drove us to set up a weekly search via Google for online pharmacies. The news notifications always finish up with a list of shady online pharmacies, most likely selling counterfeit drugs. It is always an interesting discovery to find which august educational institutions or hipster websites have been “pwned” by fake drug peddlers.
Would you really trust your medication purchase to an organization that hacks into University websites to get you to their online storefront? If they don’t care about network security, what makes you think they care about your health?
Bravo to the Beckman Laser Institute at UC Irvine, The Rhode Island School of Design Photography Program, and Instructables! Without knowing it, you are helping global fake drug criminals make money via their fake online pharmacies. You’ve been pwned!
