USA v Xiaofei Chen
On October 25, 2024, the US Attorney in the Western District of Texas charged Xaiofei 'Sophie' Chen with two counts of illegally importing a pill press and a counterfeit pill mold. She was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada while visiting the U.S. for a trade show in December 2024.
Chen, who works for a China-based equipment company, has been charged with knowingly selling presses to U.S. residents who were making controlled substances, as well as the counterfeit M30 pill molds to do it. If found guilty, she'll face a maximum of four years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
