Mexican Authorities Arrest Man Attempting to Bring Enough Fentanyl into California to Kill 15 Million People

In a story originally reported by Hayride, the Mexican Federal Police stopped a vehicle enroute to California carrying over 100 pounds of fentanyl, along with 914 pounds of crystal meth, 87 pounds of cocaine, and 18 pounds of heroin.

According to a press release (Spanish) from the Mexican National Security Commission, the vehicle was stopped near Ensenada in Baja California.  The driver has not been named, but his vehicle was registered in California.

Fox News reports that the vehicle, an SUV was originally stopped for not having a front license plate.

The Daily Mail reports that this is the second time in the last 5 months that a large fentanyl seizure has occurred near the U.S./Mexico border. In November, Mexican Federal Police stopped a vehicle carrying 31 pounds of fentanyl that was on its way to San Luis Rio Colorado, location of the border crossing with Arizona.
