PSM Advocates for SHOP SAFE legislation at Anti-Counterfeiting Day on the Hill
On September 25, Rep. Darryl Issa (R-CA-48) and Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY-12) hosted an anti-counterfeiting fair in Washington D. C. for Congressional members and Hill staff to promote the Reintroduction of the Shop Safe Act in the House.
PSM's Executive Director, Shabbir Imber Safdar, shared examples of pharmaceutical counterfeits and helped attendees understand how counterfeit medicines get to patients and how dangerous these fake medications are.
Americans are more likely to be exposed to dangerous counterfeits when purchasing medicine from non-pharmacy websites. This is why PSM has supported the SHOP SAFE Act from the moment it was first introduced.
