Asthma Drug Theft Alert and Public Warning
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the McKinney, Texas, Police Department have reported that on August 7 a tractor-trailer truck containing a 35,760-carton shipment Dey brand generic Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution was stolen in McKinney, Texas. We are concerned that they could make their way to consumers via online pharmacies.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the McKinney, Texas, Police Department have reported that on August 7 a tractor-trailer truck containing a 35,760-carton shipment Dey brand generic Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution was stolen in McKinney, Texas.
Each carton displays the brand name “DEY” and contains 30, 3ml single-dose vials of solution. The lot numbers of the stolen products are 9G01 and 9FE2.
While these two lot numbers were not commercialized prior to the theft, we are concerned that they could make their way to consumers via online pharmacies. We are also concerned that pharmacies will be offered the stolen vials at a discounted purchase price.
The shipment, belonging to the RiteDose Corporation, was identified as Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution 0.083% with National Drug Code (NDC) number 49502-697-29.
The FDA is requesting assistance from pharmaceutical drug distributors and pharmacies that may receive offers to purchase the stolen drugs. It is important to note that these products could represent a health risk because the required temperature-controlled supply chain may have been broken.
